It was near this church that I learned what freedom was.  Where I got away from it all and learned that the little things really don’t matter so much. Where I learned that I really could do whatever I wanted to do, that it was possible.  Where I sang in front of nearly strangers for the first time because I was encouraged and I loved it.  Where I learned to love red wine.  Where I walked and discovered something new every day.  Where I found my soul looking at the sculptures of the old masters.  Where I spent entirely too much money (still paying for it).  Where I found out how the simplicity of food & flavors are what make it beautiful.  Where life is slow and different and closer, not like suburbia.  Where pleasure is encouraged in daily doses.  Where I felt like I had been before, even though I hadn’t, not in this life anyway.  Where life is beautiful… la vita e bella!
Ah, I’ll be back…one day
